Police Accuse Murfreesboro Father of DUI

The impact of drunk driving allegations can go well beyond a fine and possible jail time. Accused individuals can suffer reputation damage even if the allegations are eventually proven to be false. Some accused parties may endure family strife as a result of the charges. If you have been accused of DUI in Tennessee, then you will need discreet and experienced legal counsel to help you resolve the matter with a view toward protecting your future.

A 48-year-old Murfreesboro man will need such a defense now that he is accused of being intoxicated while trying to pick up his child from school. A police report claims that the child somehow detected that the father was intoxicated and declined to leave with him. Of course, the father's side of the story remains to be told.

Shortly after the man left the school, a police officer pulled him over. A news video shows an image of the police report, and the officer's reason for pulling the man over appears to have been expired registration. The report also claims that the man showed signs of intoxication and admitted to drinking. He allegedly declined a field sobriety test and requested to be taken to jail.

The man was arrested and charged with DUI, and because he allegedly declined field sobriety testing, he is also charged with violating Tennessee's implied consent law. His bond was set at $2,500, and a court date was set for July.

The circumstances of this particular case will have to be analyzed from a defense perspective.
