A speeding violation can lead to a lot more than a ticket under certain circumstances. One man in Tennessee was recently pulled over for speeding, and the incident ended with the man facing multiple charges, including DUI charges. It was also discovered that the man had four prior convictions for drunk driving incidents.
The incident began as police said the man was driving 75 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone. After they pulled him over, the police state that the man's speech was slurred. He also reportedly did not do well on the field sobriety tests that were administered.
The 44-year-old man was then charged with DUI, no proof of insurance and a registration violation stemming from tags that were switched. The man was also charged with driving with a revoked driver's license and for violating the implied consent law. His previous DUI convictions occurred between 2001 and 2013. He was detained with no bond pending, and it was also reported that he had a previous driver's license revocation a few years ago.
